Cataract – checkup & cataract surgery

Cataract is a clouding of the lens of the eye that usually occurs with age. The most common symptoms of a cataract include: Decrease in visual acuity, blurred vision, increased glare sensitivity and impaired colour and contrast perception. For the diagnosis of cataracts, our specialists use state-of-the-art equipment and methods. Cataracts are treated by surgically replacing the clouded lens with an artificial lens (cataract surgery).

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD)

Macular degeneration is when deposits accumulate in the macula (specific area of the retina). In the wet form of age-related macular degeneration there is also an accumulation of fluid in the retina. If left untreated, this can lead to severe visual impairment. We treat wet AMD with medications that slow or prevent the formation of new vessels that lead to the fluid collections mentioned above. The drugs are injected directly into the vitreous body (intravitreal injection).

Eyelid surgery – eyelid lifts

In our practice we treat dark circles, eye wrinkles, bags under the eyes and even drooping eyelids, and thereby ensure a fresh and youthful appearance. Even small interventions can achieve great results in the elimination of such aesthetic unsightliness. Depending on the extent, eyelid lifts can also be performed without surgery (hyaluron treatment). Among the most popular procedures are cosmetic lower eyelid lifts and upper eyelid lifts. We also treat malpositions of the eyelids such as ptosis, which is manifested by drooping upper eyelids. Surgical procedures are performed in our own surgical centres.
